The 3D graphics were very impressive at the time. To get even a lowly 512k Macintosh to scroll so fast they wrote the entire game in assembly language and even added their own display / sound drivers. Impressive deed! The downside of all this custom design was that Apache Strike had a limited compatibility with Mac hardware and went on strike on newer Macs and System 7 upwards.
